Farm Town on Facebook

Looking for great apps on facebook? I recommend Farm Town. On farm town, you can grow your own crops and trees and earn coins and experience points to level up. I recommend starting out small. Grow crops based on your plans to be online. If you plan to check in several times a day, I would suggest hour based crops. If you plan to check in once a day or less, I recommend daily crops. Daily crops are great when you have to work long shifts or can't get back to the computer for a long period of time, but they build money and experience points slowly. I have reached level 60 on my farm so far. I love the rotating decoration options like the seasonal ones. There are also lots of every day decorations that go great in any season. Ok, so that is just the basics.
I have seen and read about many "cheats" available for farm town. You tube is full of videos about how to get ahead fast. While they may be fun to watch, they really don't help you with your farm. The best way to get ahead is plain old hard work. I'm not saying that it is easy, but it is fun. It's all about how much time you want to dedicate to your farm. It's not really about "winning" anything. The best reward you get is a nice farm planted and decorated the way you want it. A hobby farm is great. While you may level up slowly, and not have all the decorations and seeds unlocked, you can still have a fun time farming. Visiting neighbors helps a lot. Every day, you can gain experience points for helping on your neighbors farms. It also helps when you want to refuel any equipment you may have.
Now to reveal the "secret" to my success. First, do not buy anything with real money. If farm town does not offer it with coins, then you don't really need it. I love farming, but I work hard for my money and I am not about to spend any on a game. Bills are more important to me personally. Also, do not buy any farming helpers or get ahead guide books. These are scams to get your hard earned money with little to no help. I have reviewed several helping guides, and all they do it tell you how to play the game. If you have never played at all and want to get started and spend your money, then go ahead, but I would suggest that you will pick up anything you may want to know by playing the game. Second, raspberries, raspberries, raspberries. I have spent a lot of days planting raspberries and harvesting them every 2 hours, and then planting a longer crop overnight while I sleep and harvesting it in the morning. Then more raspberries. Another advantage to planting the raspberries, is that since they are so short on growth time, you can visit the market place while you wait to harvest. The market place is a genius way to get ahead. I would always hire out to harvest and plow your farm, no matter how large or small it is. I personally, made 500,000 coins by working for other farmers at the market in just one day. This won't always happen, but when it does, it's great! The market place is also another great resource, as well as the inn, but I personally prefer the market place. While you are waiting to be hired for a job, chat with other gamers. Most are very helpful. Ask any question and you will most likely get a few good answers and tips you may not have thought of yourself. The number one rule of the market place is: BE POLITE. No one likes a rude or obnoxious player. Say hello to other players. Ask nicely for a job. State your preference (ie. plowing or harvesting) or state that you would like any job available. Sometimes you may wait hours for a job, sometimes you get hired for several jobs in a row. There really isn't any rhyme or reason to how to get a job, but just keep trying.
There you have it, free of charge. All you really need to know about farm town. The best way to learn the game is to play it. If you decide it's not for you, then just leave your fields plowed and waiting for a possible later comeback. It never hurts to be prepared. I also recommend an excellent website for any technical info you may be after like growing times, leveling up points required and other great info. Go to http://farmaddicts.com/ , or just google "uncle joe's farm town addicts" (or some variation of this). This is an excellent resource for information. Good luck and happy farming.
